Reliance Retail plans new format in Punjab

Reliance Retail will soon open a new format of stores to sell FMCG goods, apparel, lifestyle brands, footwear et al in Punjab.
 
Speaking to Business Standard, Customer Operations (Punjab Retail) Amit Bedi said, "We are working on the modalities and hope to roll out such stores in Punjab this year only."
 
These stores would be different from the Reliance Fresh stores, he added.
 
Also, it is contemplating to export vegetables from Punjab to other countries. At present, it is exporting mangoes (not from Punjab) to Japan.
 
It is estimated that the demand in Punjab market for fruits and vegetables is phenomenal.
