Punjab-based Reliant Infrastructure is going to set up Asia's largest gas station on NH 1 near Rajpura. The state-of-the-art gas station will be set up in an area of 10 acres in association with HPCL.

The gas station will have a capacity of filling forty vehicles simultaneously. The first phase of the project will be operational by the year end.

The project will cost Rs 25 crore and HPCL will invest Rs 6 crore. The company also announced a 400 luxury-apartments project "World 1", near the upcoming Mohali Golf Club. It would be spread in an area of 10.5 acres.

According to Harmeet Chawla, the CEO, Reliant Infrastructure, the construction of the project would commence in two months and the first phase, including the club house and 124 serviced apartments will be ready in one and a half year.

The total cost of the project is about Rs 100 crore including an investment of Rs 30 crore in land. The project will have two and three bed room flats with a covered area of 1394 square feet to 2129 square feet costing between Rs 18.47 lakh to 28.20 lakh.

Chawla said the company found that the growth in telecom and IT sectors in the north, particularly in Chandigarh and periphery had created a demand for quality housing that has not been provided by the local developers.

The World 1 complex will have 100 per cent power backup, security, satellite TV service, WiFi internet connectivity, club house, tennis court, swimming pool and jacuzzi, food court, basement parking and department stores.

The compa ny would provide the semi finished apartments which the owners can furnish as per their budget and needs.

The group clocked in a turnover of Rs 60 cr last year and expects to register a turnover of Rs 100 cr by the end of this financial year.

The company has its interests in gas stations, serviced offices and real estate.

Chawala told that the company proposed to undertake apartment projects in holidat cities as there was a demand for such accomodation by the frequent travellers.
