A team of powertrain specialists from Renault's headquarters in France will be visiting India during the week, to carry out a first hand assessment of the country's regulatory framework for homologation. |
The team that will be accompanied by executives from utility vehicle major Mahindra & Mahindra, will be in the capital on May 5 and will interact with officials in the ministry of heavy industries and road transport ministry. |
M&M is currently working the French automobile major for manufacturing the Logan at the former's plant in Nashik, Maharashtra. |
The team will also interact with officials at The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers to assess the various regulatory frameworks that currently exist in India. |
"They also want to know the future regulatory trends in the country in terms of emission, fuel economy and sectoral implementation Euro norms. M&M officials in Nashik confirmed this development and said that the data and information collected by this team will be used by Renault in understanding the Indian automobile market better and will also be used as an input for all future product roll-outs from the Mahindra-Renault joint venture. |
