t ratio moving above one to 1.06 - the first time for the March contract. This indicates that sell positions were covered during the intra-day fall.
The market took a beating mainly due to the selling pressure in the F&O segment by the FIIs. FIIs selling in F&O has totalled Rs 4,306 crore in two days - Rs 1,598 crore on Tuesday and Rs 2,708 crore on Wednesday.
Nifty OI was marginally up at 49,200 with OI in the call option increasing by 86,800 and OI in futures down by 37,900.
The OI in the top five counters was up 1.65 million with Tata Motors, Siemens, Maruti Udyog and ACC witnessing an increase in OI while SBI witnessed a decline.
Market-wide, 60 counters, including 15 frontline counters, saw an increase in OI position as against 57 counters, including 10 frontline counters, that witnessed a decline in OI positions.
