Resil Chemicals enters biotech

Resil Chemicals, a Bangalore-based silicones and finishes company for the textile industry, has launched its independent biotechnology division, Resil Biotech.
 
The division will offer eco-friendly, cost-effective, enzyme-based processing and finishing solutions to compliment their array of silicone products.
 
With these products, Resil aims to capture a large share of the textile enzymes market which has high potential and is estimated to be around Rs 60-75 crore.
 
According to M S Mohan, managing director, Resil Chemicals, "With increasing environmental awareness, the demand for eco-friendly finishes is on the rise. Our aim in setting up Resil Biotech is to provide our customers with a range of enzyme-based finishes, which not only makes textile processing more economical but also enhances the finish. Further, harmful effluents are prevented from being released into the environment."
 
Resil Biotech presents a select range of application-oriented enzyme products to meet specific processing needs. Using state-of-the-art biotechnology, Resil Biotech's enzymes provide a stream of high performance solutions for a wide range of applications like bio-softening, enzyme washing, fading, smoothing, improving the quality of silk fabric and obtaining salt and pepper effect, contrast grain effect among many others.
 
Resil Chemicals is an ISO 9001:2000 silicones and finishes company for the textile industry. This 10-year-old company is 160-strong and also markets ultra-fresh anti-microbial treatments and the revolutionary sensory perception technology (SPT) from Woolmark.
