The market capitalisation (m-cap) of eight of the country's top-10 firms have declined by Rs 61,097.38 crore during the week, with the country's biggest firm in-terms of market worth, Reliance Industries emerging as the top loser.
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries (RIL) saw an erosion of Rs 20,864.68 crore from its m-cap to take its market valuation to Rs 3,27,665.38 crore at the end of Friday's trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
During the week, shares of RIL tumbled 5.98 per cent to close at Rs 1,001.15 on the BSE.
Similarly, state-run oil & gas major ONGC too saw a dip of Rs 5,742.87 crore from its m-cap which stood at Rs 2,52,119.3 crore.
IT bellwether Infosys Technologies's valuation diminished by Rs 9,447.15 crore, hit by the company's below-expectations third quarter numbers which was announced on Thursday. The market valuation of Infosys stood at Rs 1,83,830.35 crore as on last trading session.

The company had posted a 14.17 per cent growth in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,780 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2010.
Sector giant TCS whose third quarter earnings will be announced on Monday too lost Rs 4,481.99 crore from its m-cap which was at Rs 2,18,951.96 crore.
Top lenders SBI and ICICI Bank also displayed a laggard show during the week on worries of a probable rate hike by the RBI this month to contain inflation. Together these banks lost Rs 10,498.94 crore from their combined market valuations.
The m-cap of SBI was at Rs 1,58,890.37 crore, while that of ICICI was at Rs 1,16,069.75 crore.
State-run NTPC lost Rs 8,327.92 crore from its market worth which stood at Rs 1,54,025.19 crore for the week ended Friday.
FMCG honcho ITC saw an erosion of Rs 1,733.83 crore from its valuation which stood at Rs 1,31,192.95 crore.
However, Coal India (CIL) and Bharti Airtel were on the gainers side, by adding Rs 757.97 crore and Rs 1,519 crore, respectively, to their respective valuations.
CIL's m-cap stood at Rs 1,95,901.91 crore, while that of Airtel was Rs 1,30,141 crore.
Meanwhile, during the week, the BSE 30-share key index Sensex had lost 831.66 points, or 4.22 per cent, to settle at 18,860.44 as on Friday.
