Rs 440 recharge voucher gets subscribers unlimited local calls to any Reliance Mobile. |
The new scheme was announced by Reliance Infocomm (RIM) yesterday. |
This is being seen in telecom circles as a strategic move to capture the fast growing pre-paid market. RIM's new offer comes in the wake of the Tata Indicom prepaid offer which promises 1,00,000 seconds of free local and intra-circle STD calls, with a free calling card for STD and ISD calls. The scheme is targeted at RIM subscribers who use the service heavily for local calls. |
SP Shukla, president- products and services, RIM said in a media statement, "The Rs 440 RCV would be immensely useful to the Reliance India Mobile community who can stay in touch without any concern of the talk-time costs." |
Under the Rs 440 RCV scheme, a call from a RIM phone to other mobile and fixed phones within the circle would cost 80 paise per minute while the STD tariff remains unchanged. The recharge voucher is valid for 30 days from the date of recharge, the media statement said. |
The new product from the Reliance Infocomm portfolio is aimed at small and medium businesses and travelling sales people who need to be constantly on the move. |
The offer would also be useful for families which have more than one RIM connection. Also, families of students who stay out of the city for higher education would find it convenient to be in constant touch through this service, company officials said. |
The company already has over nine million subscribers and hopes to add a million more with this new initiative. Reliance Infocomm has established an all-India, high capacity, integrated and convergent digital network to offer a wide range of services for enterprises and individuals. |
