Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the flagship company of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), achieved a 26 per cent growth in sales turnover at Rs 5,282 crore during the first half of the current fiscal as against Rs 4,191 crore during the corresponding period last year.
It sold 816,000 tonnes of value-added products, as compared with 658,000 tonnes last year, a growth of 24 per cent.
Of this, saleable steel accounted for 74 per cent as against 51 per cent in the corresponding period previous year.
Saleable steel products sold to projects stood at 370,000, up 14 per cent over last fiscal.
By-products were up 27 per cent at Rs 129 crore over the same period last year, a company release stated.
