Rajkamal Electronics Private Limited (RK's), one of the city's major retail chains in consumer durables, is gearing up to face competition from global retail giants by planning to set up stores in every nook and cranny of the twin cities. |
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday in connection with the completion of 30 years in retail business in electronic goods in Hyderabad, Kamalesh Shah, managing director of RK's, announced his plans to set up six more retail stores in the next couple of years in addition to the existing five outlets at an investment of over Rs 2.5 crore. |
"Though the recently established hypermarkets and malls such as Spencer's and Big Bazar have no impact on our business turnover, it is not going to be the same with the presence of global retail chains as they bring in more experience and expertise into retail industry," Kamalesh said. |
The company has projected a turnover of Rs 45 crore for the current financial year as compared to Rs 32 crore last year. |
According to him, RK's withstood the competition and had grown into a corporate entity in the retail sector from a single retail store level in 1975 because of its more personal approach towards its customers. |
"We ask our staff to counsel and give advice to the customers on the choice of goods rather than selling it to them," he said while disclosing that over 40 per cent of the company's turnover comes from the loyal costumer base. |
The company is investing over Rs 10 lakh on implementation of ERP package and online networking with all the stores to continue with the customer-friendly traditions. |
