Rollout of two more variants of TVS Star likely

TVS Motor Company Limited expects to launch two more variants of TVS Star, the latest bike from the company's stable. Addressing mediapersons on the launch of TVS Star Deluxe in Tamil Nadu, Prasad Narasimhan, vice president (marketing), TVS Motor, said that two more variants will be rolled out depending on the success of TVS Star basic model.
 
Narasimhan said, "We plan to increase the sales of TVS Star to 35,000 a month from the present 25,000."
 
So far, over 1 lakh TVS Stars have been sold nationally. The four-stroke, 100cc motorcycle was launched in Tamil Nadu in January 2005.
 
TVS Star Deluxe is priced at Rs 32,490 while the basic model is priced at Rs 31,000. TVS Star Deluxe is the new style variant of TVS Star, targeted at the urban and semi-urban customers.
 
By roping in film actor Surya as a brand ambassador for TVS Star, TVS Motor, for the first time, is promoting a separate brand ambassador for south India, its home turf. The company had roped in Sachin Tendulkar for endorsing its TVS Victor.
 
TVS Motor Company also announced the launch of 'TVS Seyal Veeran Award' to Anand Kumar, a fisherman, for having dedicated his time and energy relentlessly in playing a pivotal role in the rehabilitation of his tsunami-wrecked village, Akkarapettai.
