Rolls-Royce Group Plc, a leading provider of power systems and services, has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in India to manage the growing volume of engineering work.

Rolls-Royce Operations India (RROIPL) would help the group meet the need for greater engineering capacity over a range of its new programmes and leverage the Indian capability to develop aero-engineering solutions, an official release said today.

Sir John Rose, chief executive of Rolls-Royce Plc, said RROIPL would direct engineering work packages to Quality Engineering and Software Technologies (Quest), a city-based global product development solutions provider.

Aravind Melligeri, president of Quest, said the company would double the headcount of locally employed engineers to 200 in the next 12 months and invest $2 million to support Rolls-Royce.
