Omidyar Network, a US-based philanthropic investment firm, has appointed Roopa Kudva as the managing director of Omidyar Network India Advisors and Omidyar Network partner. Based in Mumbai, Kudva will oversee Omidyar Network’s investments in India. Kudva, who will join the firm on July 1, will report to Omidyar Network’s managing partner, Matt Bannick.
Bannick said, “She will lead a new phase of our India operations by supporting early-stage investments, entrepreneurs, and businesses with deep social impact.”
Kudva will join Omidyar Network after leaving CRISIL, an analytical company. Kudva was the managing director and chief executive at CRISIL since 2007. She had joined the firm in 1992.
