Rs 1 lakh car on sale from mid-2008: Kant

Tata Motors would start selling its small car, priced around Rs 1 lakh, by mid-2008.

According to Ravi Kant, managing director, Tata Motors, construction of the plant for making the car is in progress.

The small car project is running behind schedule due to political turmoil over land acquisition at Singur (the site of the small car project) in West Bengal. The company, however, has ben saying it would put in all efforts to make up for lost time.
