Ruchi Soya net up 55% at Rs 42.62 cr

Riding on the back of high edible oil prices and better realisation for the branded oil, Ruchi Soya Industries, the market leader in edible oils and soya foods segment, has posted a 55 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 42.62 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 27.59 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Net sales of the company rose by 20 per cent from Rs 2,333.36 crore to Rs 2,796.46 crore, EBIDTA grew by 40 per cent from Rs 79.46 crore to Rs 110.39 crore.

Branded sales for the same quarter recorded a rise of 42 per cent to Rs 978.85 crore as against Rs 690.29 crore posted in the same period of last fiscal. The brands which contributed to a sharp spurt in sales include Nutrela, Mahakosh, Ruchi Gold, Soyumm and Ruchi No.1.

 

The company has intensified its exports activities and gained higher share in the international markets. The export turnover of the company for the quarter ended 30th June, 2008 jumped 124 per cent to Rs 300.32 crore as against Rs 134.13 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
