Rudra Eleven is likely to win the bid for preparing and distributing water bills in Shimla.

According to an estimate a large chunk of the bills currently distributed by the Shimla Municipal Corporation do not reach customers and this leads to losses and confusion.

In an effort to streamline the distribution of water bills to its customers in the city the Shimla Municipal Corporation had recently invited tenders to outsource the work.

Sources said three private companies applied- Sarswat, Renuka and Rudra Eleven.

While Sarswat proposed to print and distribute each water bill for Rs 12.50, Renuka's offer was for Rs 2.50 per bill.

Rudra Eleven, however, agreed to do the printing and distribution work for free if the civic body agreed to print the company's name and address on each bill, said sources.

The final decision is expected to be taken soon.
