South Africa-based ICT company Datatec has acquired BDA Connect, a management consultancy business based in Delhi as part of its expansion plans in India.

Johannesburg and London listed Datatec already has links in India through its network solutions provider subsidiary Westcon.

The acquisition provides Datatec's management consultancy subsidiary, Analysys Mason, a platform to develop its consulting business in India and support its existing operations in Singapore and Dubai.

BDA India's research capabilities will also enable Analysys Mason to deliver global research coverage to its clients.

"This is an important acquisition for Analysys Mason, both as a springboard into the Indian market and as a means of enhancing the scope of its global research offering," Datatec's Chief Executive Jens Montanana said.

Datatec Financial Director Ivan Dittrich did not disclose the amount paid for BDA Connect, except that it was a "negligible fee" for acquiring an Indian company with "good intelligence".
