S Kumar's net profit surges to Rs 25 crore

S Kumar Nationwide Ltd (SKNL) reported a 663 per cent rise in its net profit in the quarter ended 30th June 2006 to Rs 25 crore compared with Rs 3.28 crore a year ago.
 
Net sales in the quarter increased by 28.6 per cent and at Rs 265 crore up from Rs 206 crore the corresponding period in 2005-06.
 
"This has been possible owing to the company's commitment to manufacturing superior quality products, improved margins accruing from a realigned business strategy. All this has led to a value enhancement for the company's stakeholders," said Nitin S Kasliwal, vice chairman & managing director, SKNL.
 
SKNL is making investments in high-value cotton fabrics and home textile segments.
 
The manufacturing facilities are being set up at Ankleshwar in Gujarat. These investments will yield results from next financial year, the company said.
