When many hospitals in the country are looking at western world and some parts of west Asia to attract patients, Sagar Hospital is looking elsewhere which often may not be considered by many as a potential market.
The Sagar Hospital is opening an information centre in Lagos, the capital of Nigeria, shortly to expand its marketing efforts to attract more patients from Africa. Lagos is an administrative region of Nigeria, and because of its location, Sagar Hospitals hopes cover the market in the surrounding countries in the African continent. A senior executive will be taking up position in Lagos to use it as a base to nurse the market for the Sagar Hospitals within Nigeria and neighbouring African countries.
Dr Madan S Gaekwad, Senior Executive V-P, said, this step was part of Sagar Hospitals’ foray into international market. Sagar Group has so far been attracting patients to its two hospitals located in Jayanagar and Banashanakri. He said, on an average the Sagar Hospitals have been treating 30 patients from abroad in a month.
Now with the direct facilitation center, the number is expected to go up to 100, Dr Gaekwad said.
Sharing information on the Banashankari, the second hospital of Sagar Health Services Group, Dr Madan said the leading healthcare service provider will set up a day care surgery centre and a clinic in Dubai and a polyclinic in Muscat.
In order to spread its footprints in SAARC countries, Sagar Group is planning to conduct a health check camp in Dacca in the first week of October. It will be conducted by consultants from Sagar Hospitals in coordination with local authorities in Dhaka the check-up programme will cover important specialties like cardiac, neurology and orthopedics.
