Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has reported record net profit of Rs 1513.15 crore for quarter ended September 30, 2004, up 200 per cent from Rs 505.16 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. |
The steel major has also reported a turnover Rs 7,559.02 crore during the second quarter of this financial year, an increase of 30 per cent over the Rs 5,812.53 crore sales in the second quarter of 2003-04. |
The company's net profit for the first six months was Rs 2,625 crore, an increase of 245 per cent over the corresponding period of last year. |
The profit for the first half surpassed the all-time high annual net profit of Rs 2,512 crore recorded during the last financial year. SAIL's board took the half yearly results for 2004-05 on record here yesterday. |
