SAIL Q3 net doubles, cross Rs 1,500cr

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has reported a 105% increase in net profit at Rs 1,514.24 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 as against Rs 737.95 crore in Q3FY04.

According to a release issued to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 7,833.26 crore from Rs 5,911.74 crore in Q3FY04.

The board has approved an interim dividend of 15% for FY05.

The release added that February 1, 2005 has been fixed as the record date for the payment of interim dividend.
