SAIL urged to send workers abroad for skill upgradation

Rourkela Shramik Sangh (RSS), the recognised trade union body of Rourkela  Steel Plant (RSP) has urged the management of the Steel Authority Of India Ltd (SAIL) to take steps to send the workers abroad to enhance their technical skills as per the provision of modernisation package from where new technology has been adopted.

The RSS in a memorandum to SAIL chairman C S Verma here stressed the need for maintaining the quality work in the ongoing expansion and modernisation process of the RSP here.

The members under the leadership of Prasanta Behera, its president and Mahipal Bag. General secretary alleged that due to lack of proper maintenance the swerage system of the steel plant, its drainage and houses had deteriorated and urged him to direct the concern officials to take up the work immediately.

 

They also urged the chairman to take steps to recruit technical persons to fill the pending vacancies.
