Samsung expects Rs 105 cr from east UP

Samsung India Electronics Pvt Ltd expects an overall business of Rs 102-105 crore in eastern Uttar Pradesh by the end of this year. This will be a 20-22 per cent increase in the sales of last year, which were about Rs 86 crore.
 
Eastern UP accounts to about an 8 per cent market share for the North India sales of the company.
 
Talking to Business Standard, Ravinder Zutshi, deputy managing director, said, "North India is the largest contributor holding approximately a 32 per cent market share to our all-India sales. Business in Eastern UP is catching up and we can't ignore the importance of this market. We are opening our third brand showroom in Kanpur in a few days."
 
Zutshi was present to inaugurate Samsung's 100th 'Dream House Road Show' at Lucknow today. This is the sixth show of such kind in Eastern UP.
 
The show, starting today, will continue till October 15. The purpose is to showcase a series of Samsung products under one roof. The company has about 15 exclusive showrooms in Eastern UP and a brand showroom each in Kanpur and Lucknow.
 
To mark the celebration of its hundredth roadshow, the company also announced the launch of its new, advanced 'Sonoma' series of LCD TVs in the market. Available in the 32-inch and 40-inch screen sizes, the models are priced at Rs 74,000 and Rs 1.29 lakh, respectively.
 
The highpoint of the road show at Lucknow was the company's complete LCD Panel range on display, available in the screen sizes between 20 inches and 46 inches, priced between Rs 34,990 and Rs 2.50 lakh.
 
With the introduction of the Sonoma series, Samsung now has a range of eleven LCD TVs and four Plasma TVs in its product portfolio. Samsung which has a market share of 45.3 per cent in LCD TVs, is hoping to garner a 50 per cent market share by the end of this year.
 
"The purpose of carrying out these road shows is to reach out to our customers and allow them to freely interact with and experience our leading technology products," added Zutshi.
 
The ongoing mega festival promotion campaign by the company, titled 'Diwali Jackpot, Gifts Sureshot,' on an all India basis assure gifts worth more than Rs 45 crore.
