Sanjay Aggarwal takes over as Managing Director of Fortum India

He was earlier with Tata Power

Finnish energy company Fortum has appointed Sanjay Aggarwal as Managing Director in India. Aggarwal will be responsible for developing Fortum’s Business in India with a particular focus on combined heat and power, as well as solar energy production. He will report to Markus Rauramo, Executive Vice President, Heat, Electricity Sales and Solutions division, Fortum.   

“India is a fast growing market with substantial energy needs to power the growth of its industry. We are also making our first steps in solar energy production, where India offers unique opportunities due to its geographical location as well as government policies targeted at increasing solar energy share in the Indian energy mix. With Sanjay’s strong background in the energy sector and understanding of the Indian market, we hope to be able to address the local needs even better,”  said Markus Rauramo on Aggarwal's appointment.
 
 
Having graduated from the Delhi College of Engineering, Aggarwal has gained his experience working for TATA Power, Finnish Wartsila, Swedish ABB and Thermax India. Euro 6.1-billion Fortum generates, distribute and sell electricity and heat, and offer related expert services.
