Sany starts crawler crane production at Chakan plant

Chinese crane manufacturer Sany Heavy Industry India has began crawler crane production from its Chakan plant. Considering the growing demand for these cranes in Indian markets, the extended facility has been set up. The team of 11 members from China has been appointed for the crawler crane.

Zeng Zhihong, director sales, Sany Heavy Industry India Pvt Ltd said, "The Chakan plant will act as a substitute for import of cranes all the way from China. Earlier, the crawler cranes were to be imported from Sany China according to customer requirements. However, consequently looking at the constant growth of crane market and products receiving higher appreciation by India customer, SANY has taken step forward to start production of cranes at its manufacturing facility at Chakan, Pune in India."

 

Along with crawler crane, the unit manufactures heavy construction equipments trailer mounted concrete pump, truck mounted concrete pump, concrete mixer truck, concrete batching plant and motor grader and cranes. This is Sany's biggest manufacturing plant outside China. It has plans to invest US $ 1.5 billion (approx. Rs 7,700 crore) in the next five years in India. The company has established six regional offices and 18 service stations across India.
