SARA industrial estate gets Rs 200 cr investment

Private industrial estates are getting the taste of industrial boom in Uttaranchal in the wake of the tax holiday scheme, offered by the central government.
 
The upcoming SARA industrial estate, set up by the SARA group of industries, has been able to attract over Rs 200 crore from nearly 35 new industrial units.
 
Small- and medium-size firms like Avon Beauty Products and IPCA Laboratory are setting up units in the industrial estate, spread over 70 acres, near the Selaquie industrial area.
 
"We have got a very good response as far our industrial estate is concerned," said the head of the Sara group of industries, V K Dhawan.
 
The Sara group is also into entering the pharma sector by setting up a unit in the new industrial estate. The group will invest Rs 10 crore in Planet Herbs Lifesciences Pvt Ltd. It is investing another Rs 10 crore in Involute Engineering Ltd, a separate unit of the Sara group in the estate.
 
There are about 12 pharma companies ready to establish units in the Sara industrial estate. They include Coral Laboratories, Rhydburg Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and Sarvear Pharmaceuticals. Some of these are entering the pharma sector.
 
While nearly four industrial units have started production, the construction work of five more is in progress. The companies that have started production include IPCA Lab, Troika, Involute Engineering Ltd and Rhydburg Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
 
The Sara group is also offering truck-parking facilities inside the industrial estate. Besides, a motel and five to six shops are also being planned inside the estate.
