Saregama India, the Rs 6,600-crore RPG Enterprises-managed music company, has forayed into the home video segment, through a distribution arrangement with Warner Home Video, a division of the global entertainment major, Warner Bros.
Saregama vice-chairman Sanjiv Goenka said the arrangement would enable the company to distribute over 5,000 films of the Warner catalogue in India as well as Bangladesh. Saregama would kick start the business next week.
The foray into the home video segment was a well thought out move and the company intended to strike some similar deals with global majors, he added.
