Saregama net up at Rs 3.21 cr

Saregama India, entertain-ment outfit of the RPG group, reported profit-after-tax (PAT) at Rs 3.21 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 of the current financial year compared with Rs 2.77 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2005-06. The company registered turnover of Rs 35.60 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared to Rs 28.45 crore in the corresponding quarter ended September 30, 2005.

Stone India net up 32%

The Gouri Prasad Goenka-promoted Stone India has recorded 32 per cent increase in turnover at Rs 20.15 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2006, driven by orders received. Stone India received an initial defence freight car conversion order, on completion of which, the company expects to receive a bulk order from the ministry of defence.

JB Chem net up 12%

JB Chemicals and Pharma-ceuticals has posted 12 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 27.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared to Rs 24.54 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous financial year. The company's total income during the quarter under review rose at Rs 148.14 crore, up by 13 per cent, from Rs 131.20 crore of the previous comparable quarter.

Paper Products net up 150 %

The Paper Products, India's leading flexible packaging company, reported 150 per cent rise in net profit in the third quarter of the current calendar year ending September 2006 at Rs 16.36 crore compared with Rs 6.58 crore in the same quarter last year. The company achieved sales of Rs 132.34 crore during the third quarter, showing 27 per cent growth.

Apar Inds net up 59 %

Buoyed by the increased revenues from conductor manufacturing, Apar Industries posted 58.63 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 12.12 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, against Rs 7.64 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005.

Bilcare net up at Rs 12cr

Pharmaceutical packaging solutions company Bilcare has posted 34 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 11.82 crore during the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared with Rs 8.8 crore of the corresponding previous quarter.

The company's total income during the quarter under review grew by 37 per cent to Rs 78.54 crore.

Su-Raj net rises 7 %

Su-Raj Diamonds & Jewellery, one of leading players in gems and jewellery industry, reported 7 per cent increase in net profit during the second quarter of the current fiscal at Rs 9.26 crore against Rs 8.67 crore same period last year.

The turnover of the company during the period under consideration jumped by 26.5 per cent at Rs 358 crore from Rs 283 crore in the same quarter last year.

Subhas net profit up 513%

Subhas Projects and Market-ing has posted 513 per cent jump in net profit in the quarter ended September 30, 2006. The company had posted net profit at Rs 10.2 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year compared with Rs 1.6 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal. Its turnover rose from Rs 61.1 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2005, to Rs 193.7 crore in the quarter ended this year.

Magma net up Rs 9.21 cr

Magma Leasing has posted net profit at Rs 9.21 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared to Rs 6.51 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal. The turnover of the company jumped from Rs 31.47 crore in the second quarter of 2005-06 to Rs 52.07 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2006-07.

Diana Tea net sales up 71%

Diana Tea Company has recorded 71 per cent increase in net sales to Rs 10.21 crore for the third quarter ended September 30, 2006.

Net profit has increased by 238.65 per cent at Rs 4.03 crore, on account of higher realisations. EPS for the quarter shot up from Rs 0.32 to Rs 1.08.

HFCL net profit up 75%

Cashing in on the telecom boom, telecom equipment supplier Himachal Futuristic Communications (HFCL)has reported 21.63 per cent growth in net turnover at Rs 250.30 crore for the quarter ended September 30 compared with Rs 205.78 crore in the same period last year.

For the quarter under review, HFCL net profit rose 75 per cent to touch Rs 30.24 crore against Rs 17.33 crore in the corresponding period last year.
