Satnam Overseas net up 43% to Rs 4.74 cr

Satnam Overseas Ltd reported a 43 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 4.74 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004, against Rs 3.31 crore in the same period of the previous year.
 
Income from operations (net sales) rose 4.22 per cent to Rs 140.87 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2004-05 from Rs 135.16 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, a company release said.
 
The quarterly results reflect the healthy growth of the company, joint managing director Gurnam Arora said. Branded basmati rice exports in the third quarter grew 386 per cent to Rs 29.91 crore over the previous years Rs 6.15 crore.
 
Basmati rice exports were up by 69 per cent to Rs 39 crore from the previous year's Rs 23.1 crore. The FMCG division recorded a 44 per cent growth in sales to Rs 4.74 crore from the previous years Rs 3.31 crore.
