Satyam to set up centre in Nagpur

Satyam Computer Services has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) to acquire 100 acre in the Nagpur special economic zone.

This was announced in a release issued by Satyam Computer Services to the BSE today.

"We are delighted to be the first IT company in Nagpur city, and are confident of the potential of the city which has good infrastructure and a huge talent pool. We are certain that with the support of the government of Maharashtra, we will be able to contribute in making Nagpur a great IT destination," B Rama Raju, co-founder and managing director of Satyam Computer Services, said.

In another release issued by Satyam, the company said it has been rated as a top player in the Indian vendor consulting market by global research firm Forrester Research Inc in a study `The Forrester Wave: Indian Vendor Consulting Capabilities, Q42005'.

"Satyam has a strong consulting vision, and has been able to deliver on both the technical and business process consulting requirements," Stephaine Moore, vice-president of IT services research group of Forrester Research, said in the report.

Forrester also evaluated Satyam's current offerings and strategy for providing technical and business process consulting services against 20 criteria. The survey found that Satyam's strong skills were especially prevalent in the ERP and technical consulting space, the release added.
