SBBJ Q3 net dips 18% at Rs 76 cr

Public sector lender State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) today said its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008 fell 18 per cent at Rs 75.79 crore, over the corresponding period a year ago.

SBBJ, which is an associate of the country's largest lender State Bank of India, had a net profit of Rs 92.48 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income rose to Rs 1,163.09 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 872.52 crore in the third quarter of FY08.

 

For the nine months ended December 31, 2008, the lender has registered a net profit of Rs 255.16 crore, a growth of 13.82 per cent against Rs 224.17 crore of the same period a year ago.

The total income for the nine months ended December 31, 2008, rose to Rs 3,236.56 crore from Rs 2,529.36 crore for the same period last year.

SBBJ fell 1.68 per cent and was trading at Rs 242.80 in the late afternoon trade on the BSE.
