Public sector lender State Bank of Travancore (SBT) today said net profit rose by 13.11 per cent to Rs 217.22 crore in the quarter ended March 31 compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Total income of the bank rose to Rs 1,277.05 crore for the fourth quarter, in comparison to Rs 1,256.89 crore for the same period of the previous fiscal, SBT said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The bank earned an interest of Rs 1,126.76 crore for the fourth quarter ended March, 2010.
For the year ended March, 2010, SBT posted a net profit of Rs 684.26 crore, compared to Rs 607.83 crore in the last fiscal.
Total income of the bank rose to Rs 4,906.07 crore for the year ended March, 2010, compared to Rs 4,696.24 crore during the previous fiscal.
The bank earned an interest of Rs 4,378.11 crore for the year ended March, 2010, compared to Rs 4,125.22 crore in FY2009.
The bank has declared a dividend of 160 per cent for the 2009-10 financial year.
On Friday, shares of SBT closed at Rs 668.25 on the BSE, up 3.77 per cent from the previous close.
