SC directs 2G bench to hear Reliance Telecom plea

The company says CBI's plea under section 311 should not have been accepted

Ruchika Chitravanshi New Delhi
The Supreme Court today directed the appropriate 2G bench comprising Justice Singhvi and Justice Radhakrishnan to hear the plea filed by Reliance Telecommunication yesterday.

Reliance Telecom had filed a special leave petition yesterday, in the apex court challenging the special court order to allow Anil Ambani and Tina Ambani along with 11 others to be present in court as witnesses in the ongoing 2G spectrum scam trial.

The Special CBI Court has directed the Ambanis to be present in the court on July 26.

Reliance Telecom had clarified that the Ambanis are not parties to the special leave petition. The counsel of the company had also said that the approach of the CBI, moving an application at this late stage of the trial, made it clear that they have failed to establish any case and the 2G charge sheet is liable to be dropped altogether.
