SCI Q4 net zooms 138%

Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has reported a net profit of Rs 611.13 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 - a 138% surge over the last fiscal quarter's Rs 257.14 crore. Total income has increased from Rs 849.88 crore in Q4-04 to Rs 958 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005.

The company has posted a 126% surge in net profit at Rs 1,419.91 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 626.99 crore in FY04. Total revenue has increased from Rs 2,999.27 crore in FY-04 to Rs 3,645.78 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005.

According to a release issued by SCI to the BSE, the board has recommended a final dividend of 30% for 2004-05 (subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting).
