The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has filed a fresh application for issuing personal summons to Sahara group chief Subrata Roy, as well as three directors of the company, before a metropolitan magistrate court in Mumbai.
These senior Sahara group officials would have to appear before the chief metropolitan magistrate before September 30. Last year, Sebi had initiated criminal proceedings against Sahara group companies — Sahara India Real Estate and Sahara Housing Investment —and Subrata Roy for violating a series of orders issued by it.
Summons to Subrata Roy and three directors for personal appearances were issued by the court in May.
