Sebi seeks court nod to quiz more Satyam accused

A local court here today admitted a petition filed by Sebi seeking permission to quiz and record the statements of Satyam Computer former CFO Vadlamani Srinivas, and PwC sacked executives S Gopalakrishnan and Talluri Srinivas.

The petition was filed by Sebi in the court of the 6th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

The trio are allegedly involved in the Rs 7,800 crore Satyam fraud case and now in judicial remand till February 21 along with former Satyam Chairman B Ramalinga Raju and his brother and former Managing Director Rama Raju.

Earlier, on the direction of the Supreme Court, the market regulator interrogated and recorded the statements of B Ramalinga Raju and his brother Rama Raju during three days interrogation from February 4 at the Chanchalguda jail here.

 

The court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow on the SFIO petition and second bail petition of former PwC partners.

While SFIO sought court permission to record the statements of B Ramalinga Raju and four other accused in the case, the defence lawyer of S Gopalakrishnan and Talluri Srinivas filed a second bail petition.

The Fourth Additional Metropolitan Magistrate also adjourned the hearing for tomorrow on the anticipatory bail petition of Suryanaryana Raju of SRSR Advisory Services.

Suryanarayana Raju, director of SRSR, advisory firm of Satyam, is not accessible ever since the CID, investigating the fraud, raided his house and office on January 21.
