Ahmedabad-based textiles player Sekhani group has forayed into women's personal care and hygiene space under the brand name of 'Wonder Wings'.
The group would invest about Rs 500 crore in next five years, of which around Rs 150 crore would go into setting up new plant at Sanand.
Prakash Sekhani, manging director, said, "We intend to invest and add more facilities in phased manner with an investment of Rs 500 crore, and plan to employ about 1,000 people. Our target is to make 800 million sanitary napkins annually." The company already has three textile manufacturing units at Vatva industrial area of Ahmedabad.

Vivek Gadgil, president, marketing and sales at Sekhani Group said, "We had invested about Rs 100 crore to setup plant at Sanand and will pump Rs 50 crore more for further development in near future."
In future, Wonder Wings also plans to setup facilities for baby diapers, adult diapers and other related products.
Sekhani Group is planning to tie up with NGOs, government and institutions to create awareness in hygiene amongst the young girls and women by promoting the same in Schools and Colleges. The Group will distribute complimentary sanitary napkin to one million girls who have never used this hygiene practice in past.
