Shalby Hospitals forays into West Asia through JV

This will enable Shalby to take their innovative  '0' Technique of total knee replacement [TKR] Surgery to UAE

City-based Shalby Hospitals said that it has entered into a joint venture agreement with Dubai based RAK Hospital UAE, the flagship brand of Arab Healthcare.

This will enable Shalby to take their innovative  '0' Technique of total knee replacement [TKR] Surgery to UAE. Apart from TKR, Shalby will manage complete Orthopedic Department of RAK Hospital which receives local patients and international patients from Africa, Egypt, Muscat, USA, UK and several other countries along with patients from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-the  alliance of six West Asian countries which includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.

As part of the agreement, the team of experienced medical specialists, besides Dr. Vikram Shah, chairman and head of orthopedics department at Shalby Hospitals, will regularly visit RAK Hospital to conduct procedures in the area of joint replacement, especially TKR and Total Hip Replacement (THR).
 

Speaking on the joint venture Dr Shah said, "At our Ahmedabad International Patient Care Centre,  we cater to almost 200 patients every month from the middle-east and Africa. Now we are pleased to extend the same expertise to benefit the patients of other destinations through RAK Hospital."

According to a media statement here, "Dr Shah is known for having conducted more than 52,000 Joint replacement surgeries with his team till date. On an average, he and his team conduct more than 20 surgeries per day and around 600 surgeries a month. This has made Shalby Hospitals the center in the world which has done the largest number of joint replacement surgeries."
