Shashi Sinha gets top job at IPG Mediabrands India

Lynn de Souza to leave Lintas Media Group in November to become a social entrepreneur

IPG Mediabrands, which was formed by US-based advertising and communications agency Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG) in 2007, to manage all of its global media-related assets, has promoted Shashi Sinha to the post of CEO of IPG Mediabrands India.

In his new role, Sinha, currently CEO of Lodestar UM, will take additional responsibility of Initiative, BPN, Reprise and the Outdoor company in addition to his existing charge.

“This represents the commitment IPG Mediabrands has made to the Indian market, and recognizes that Shashi, an IPG veteran of over 20 years, has contributed greatly to that growth. He has rapidly expanded and developed Lodestar UM over the past six years, led the way for the foundation of many new offerings in the market,” IPG Mediaworld said.

Meanwhile, Lynn de Souza will leave IPG as chairman and CEO of Lintas Media Group in November. “Lynn, an active participant in the non-profit space for several years, has expressed her desire to become a social entrepreneur. She will announce the launch of a pioneering new initiative for the development sector in early 2013, and will be leaving IPG Mediabrands at the end of November. IPG is thankful for her long years of service during which she built a formidable media reputation for the group and contributed to the founding, among other things, the IPG Women's Leadership Network. We wish Lynn all the success for the future,” the company stated.

IPG Mediabrands had launched in India in March this year. Together, its companies control over 17 per cent share of the Indian media market. It comprise of three media agencies - Lodestar UM, Initiative and BPN and digital offering Reprise, which is a joint venture with Interactive Avenues.
