Shasun net up 9% to Rs 14.33 cr |
The Chennai-based Shasun Chemicals and Drugs reported net profit of Rs 14.33 crore during the fourth quarter of 2006-07, an increase of 8.97 per cent compared with Rs 13.15 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The company's income from operations grew by 10.56 per cent to Rs 113.95 crore compared with Rs 103.07 crore in 2005-06. |
On a standalone basis, for the full year ended March 31, 2007, Shasun's net profit rose to Rs 38.29 crore, registering a growth of 4.90 per cent over Rs 36.50 crore a year ago. The total income from operations for 2007 stood at Rs 425.82 crore compared with Rs 370.05 crore for the year ended March 2006, recording a growth rate of 15.07 per cent. On a consolidated basis, the company's net profit rose by 43.22 per cent to Rs 52.62 crore against Rs 36.74 crore a year ago. Income from operations was Rs 793.34 crore during 2006-07 compared with Rs 376.90 crore, clocking a growth of 110.50 per cent. |
The company acquired UK-based Rhodia Pharma Solutions' through its wholly owned subsidiary, Shasun Pharma Solutions (SPSL), in the UK during 2006-07. According to N Govindarajan, chief executive officer and managing director, Shasun, Rhodia's custom synthesis and contract manufacturing business was turned around from negative to positive EBIDTA (earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes and amortisation) in the last of quarter of its first year of operations (2006-07). The board of directors has declared a final dividend of Rs 1.70 a share. |
Tata Coffee Q4 net up 25% at Rs 10.17 cr |
The Bangalore-based Tata Coffee, backed by improved performance on account of higher coffee price realisation, has reported 24.78 jump in net profit at Rs 10.17 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31 compared with Rs 8.15 crore reported for same quarter in the last financial year. Sales during the fourth quarter were up 26.46 per cent at Rs 77.52 crore compared with the same period during last year. Its Q4 operating profit has risen 19.14 per cent from Rs 12.01 crore to Rs 10.08 crore. For FY07, Tata Coffee has posted 18.30 per cent higher profits at Rs 20.23 crore compared with Rs 17.10 crore in the previous year. |
