Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), a leading depository participant, rendered uninterrupted client services despite the life in Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, coming to a standstill for three days from July 26 due to incessant rains.

Stock Holding Corporation of India had overcome the cascading problems like connectivity, power interruption and loss of communication links, through its business continuity plan, which has taken its course of action seamlessly and maintained service levels through out the country and Andhra Pradesh.

"This has significance, as failure to deliver shares on time, leads to losses to retail investors and great care was taken to avoid any such event," K S Murthy, vice-president of SHCIL, stated in a press release here on Tuesday.

SHCIL, which currently has 12 branches in Andhra Pradesh, has plans to open more branches in the state during the current fiscal, he said.
