Royal Dutch Shell stopped imports of liquefied natural gas at its terminal in Hazira in India after the country’s buyers switched to cheaper naphtha, according to ship-tracking data. Shell hasn’t imported any LNG cargoes in November and December, according to transmissions from ships captured by AISLive on Bloomberg.

It imported two cargoes from Oman and Equatorial Guinea in October on vessels Salalah LNG and Seri Bijaksana, respectively, the data showed. Shell India didn’t respond to an e-mail sent today. Hazira averaged about three cargos a month against two a month last year, Deepak Mukarji, a Shell spokesman, said by e-mail on October 16.
