Shemaroo buys Pen India's audio catalog

Shemaroo Entertainment, one of the leading content provider and aggregators in Indian Digital space, today said it has acquired the entire audio catalogue of Pen India to leverage it across all platforms including the emerging new media platforms.

Shemaroo, with its extensive strategies of acquiring content and deploying it on different mediums, today ranks among the top 10 VAS (Value Added Services) players in digital media space.

The deal offers Shemaroo the perpetual rights for major part of Pen's catalog.

Pen's huge library of bollywood music which includes more than 1,000 songs will be exploited on various digital platforms including mobile and internet along with traditional mediums like physical, performance rights and radio, a company statement said.

 

"Shemaroo has been in the video content space for the last 30 years. We not only own the largest library in the country but also have perpetual rights for more than 600 titles. With this acquisition, we are now a significant player in the audio content space," Shemaroo Entertainment Director Jai Maroo said.

Our recent acquisitions will empower our library and strengthen our position as the largest content owner in the country, Maroo said.
