Shemaroo to invest Rs 200 cr in film production, distribution

Home video distribution company Shemaroo Entertainment, plans an investment of Rs 200 crore for enhancing its presence in content-creation as well as film-distribution, a top company official said.

The company would raise funds through both, equity as well as debt route and the time period for the investment would be 12-18 months, Shemaroo Entertainment's Director Hiren Gada told PTI.

The company, in the current financial year, has already produced two films and plans a Hindi feature-film and an animation movie.

"We have produced two films, 'Ghatothkach' and 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap' and will be producing two more this fiscal," he said.

 

Shemaroo, which has two animation films, 'Bal Ganesh' and 'Ghatothkach', to its credit, plans to complete its third animation film by this year-end.

"We will be completing an animation movie by December. Its release would, however, depend upon other box-office releases as also the vacation time of children," he said.
