The much awaited Shopper's Stop has found its ground in the heart of the city at C G Road and will open by August-September this year at the upcoming 'The Shopping Mall', which is spread over 2.5 lakh sq ft. The mall has been developed by city based Shyam Buildcom.

Rajesh Vaswani of Shyam Buildcom while talking to Business Standard said, "The anchor for the mall is Shoppers Stop. Besides, there will be a premium mix of retailers."

The Shopper's Stop that will open in the city will be in line with its other outlets in Mumbai and Bangalore. Shopper's Stop is a retail venture by the K Raheja Corp.

The Shopping Mall has been constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore and has parking facility for 300 cars.

As many as ten escalators have also been designed for people to move around in a hassle free environ.

The mall will witness many big retailers. However, he declined to divulge names of other players.

Designed by a Mumbai based architect Qutub, the mall will have entertainment activities like arcade games and novelty games, besides a food court.

"The mall has a wide atrium for people to hang around. We believe in mass development and the mall has been specifically created after intensive research," Vaswani said.

The research work has been carried out by ORG Marg.

Shyam Buildcom has been in the real estate development business from the past 15 years and it runs in the family, Vaswani said.

The company is also in the process of setting up regional shopping mall near Prahlad Nagar road which is spread over 5 lakh sq ft.

"It is in the early phase of development. We are yet to zero in on the players who will be setting up their retail outlets in the mall," he informed.

The construction cost will be about Rs 50-75 crore and will mainly cater to the customers from Satellite and other adjoining areas, he said while adding, "As per the company policy, we do not sell spaces, instead lease them out for a specific period."
