Shri Kailash's logistics park near Chennai set to take off

Chennai-based Shri Kailash Logistics Limited, a company of the Sree Kailas group, has completed the first phase of its logistics park with a warehouse and commercial complex at Oragadam, near Chennai.

The formal inauguration is scheduled for the first week of May, according to S Giridhar, managing director.

The park houses a 325,000 sft warehouse and a 25,000 sft of commercial complex, which were completed with technical support from a logistics parks consultant in Singapore. He said the company was building another 700,000 sft warehouse with an investment of about Rs 320 crore in the park, which is is expected to be fully commissioned in the next two years.

 

It has leased out 250,000 sft to multinational automobile companies. Giridhar said they had an offer from a multinational company to take the entire park on a long-term lease.

The company is also planning to set up another 50-acre park in north Chennai, near Red Hills, close to the Chennai-Kolkata Highway mainly to cater to the FMCG companies. It would also set up similar parks in Coimbatore and Bangalore.

The Kochi-based Sree Kailas Group is engaged in the manufacture of paper products and paper conversion, transportation and logistics, and development of logistics parks, real estate and construction. The group is expecting a combined turnover of Rs 400 crore in the current fiscal.
