It is also planning to set up a green field port with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore and has identified five states -- Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa and Goa -- for this purpose.
The proposed site for the green field port will be decided in the next three months and the port will start its operations in 12 months. The focus will be on iron ore and coal handling.
The port will come up where there is no strong competition for the coal and iron ore traffic.
Sical has also bid for the proposed Rs 800 crore container terminal in Karwar, Karnataka on the West coast.
For this project, the company has joined hands with an Indian partner.
