Siemens Q4 net up 125% at Rs 309cr

Siemens has posted an increase of 125% in its net profit for the fourth quarter ended September 2007 at Rs 308.62 crore when compared with Rs 136.75 crore for the quarter ended September 2006.

Revenue for the fourth quarter grew 43.4% at Rs 2242.44 crore from Rs 1563.32 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

For the full year ended September 2007, the company reported an increase of 76.8% in net profit (consolidated) at Rs 692.85 crore from Rs 391.69 crore last fiscal year. Its revenue was at Rs 9,427.04 crore, up 55% from Rs 6078.32 crore last financial year.

Consequent to the receipt of the approval from the shareholders by postal ballots, business activities pertaining to the information and communication segment were sold and transferred as a going concern on slump sale basis to Siemens Enterprise Public Communication (SECPL) Mumbai for a total consideration of Rs 60.9 crore.
