Simplex bags Rs 260 cr project

Simplex Concrete Piles (I) Ltd has secured a Rs 260-crore project from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for executing the Lucknow-Muzaffarpur National Highway.
 
The project involves making the 40-km Gorakhpur-Gopalganj section of the National Highway No 28 a four-lane one, which falls in Uttar Pradesh.
 
According to the terms and conditions of the NHAI contract, the project is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.
 
Remarking on the swelling order book of the company, Amitabh Das Mundhra, director, Simplex Concrete Piles (I) Ltd, said, "The company's order book is growing not only in terms of quantity but in quality as well. The company was also undertaking complex projects on the EPC basis. However, it was noteworthy that we were executing projects in nearly all sectors of construction."
 
Currently, according to Mundhra, the company's order book stands at Rs 3, 600 crore and is likely to swell with many projects in the negotiation stages.
 
Simplex Concrete, the largest infrastructure solutions providers, clocked up a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore in 2004-05, an increase of 53 per cent over the last year's figure. "In the first quarter of the current financial year, the company has been able to maintain the growth rate and earned a turnover of Rs 312 crore," Mundhra said.
 
Incorporated in 1924, Simplex Concrete Piles (I) Ltd was one of the largest infrastructure solutions providers in the country, with more than eight decades of successful operations.
 
Simplex Concrete has successfully completed more than 3,000 projects in India, including the first private sector steel plants at Tatanagar and Burnpur, approaches to the Howrah Bridge and the Supreme Court.
 
Simplex Concrete, one of the top few construction companies in India, has been registered for engineering works with over 60 government departments and 48 public and private sector organisations in various areas.
 
The company's construction activities include the execution of big industrial projects, piling jobs, constructions of ports and bridges, setting up of power projects, processing plants and commercial and industrial complexes.
 
Simplex Concrete is known to have the largest fleet of pile drivers outside the US and a whole range of other construction equipment, including cranes, hydraulic excavators, dumpers, generators, compressors, well-point dewatering sets and slip form equipment.
