Simplilearn buys Market Motive

Simplilearn, a Bengaluru-based education technology start-up, has acquired Market Motive, a Silicon Valley-based digital marketing training company for $10 million ( Rs 64 crore). The acquisition paves the way for Simplilearn to expand its presence in the United States.

Monocept acquires GetMeFood

Monocept, a Hyderabad-based technology firm focused on developing enterprise cloud, mobile and web solutions, has acquired online food-ordering start-up GetMeFood, also from Hyderabad, for an undisclosed amount. It delivers food from about 250 restaurants in the region.

CreditMantri raises $2.5 million

Online credit management service CreditMantri has raised $2.5 million (Rs 16 crore) in a first institutional round of funding (Series-A) from IDG Ventures India, ElevarEquity and AccionVenture Lab. CreditMantri will use the funds to broaden and accelerate their platform development and build its user base.
 
Indix raises $15 million

Nokia Growth Partners, Nexus Venture Partners and Avalon Ventures have led a $15-million (close to Rs 95 crore) for cloud-based SaaS product intelligence platform Indix. The US-based start-up has its research and development team based out of Chennai. Indix plans to use the proceeds to ramp up its headcount and expand its sales and marketing activities.

Matrix, SAIF fund Treebo

Matrix Partners India and SAIF Partners have co-led a $6-million first institutional round of funding in Treebo Hotels, a new-age, tech-enabled chain of hotels offering quality accommodation to travellers at affordable prices. Treebo will use these funds for expanding its network of hotels, developing state-of-the-art technology and hiring top talent.

Sequoia, Kae put Rs 35 cr in Porter

Sequoia Capital and Kae Capital, along with three other angel investors, have invested Rs 35 crore in Porter, a Mumbai-based online logistics marketplace. Porter plans to expand to six more cities in one year, besides improving existing products and solutions and recruiting talent. At present, Porter has 300 vehicles handling 10,000 transactions every month in Mumbai and the National Capital Region.
