Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited, on Friday, said that the company has received unified license (UL) for the eight circles for which it acquired fresh spectrum through auction in March.

Sistema Shyam becomes the first company to get the UL that allows the company to provide technology neutral telecom services for 20 years.

“We are delighted to get the UL. This is a positive development and would bring clarity in the operating environment for the company. We are now looking forward to the allotment of the third carrier of spectrum that we had won in the March 2013 auctions,” said CEO Dmitry Shukov.

The company, which offers CDMA services under MTS brand name in India, operates in Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, UP (West) and West Bengal. It also has a separate licence for Rajasthan circle.
